Objective:


To strengthen the use of technology and innovation to end violence against women and girls through survivor-centered, gender-responsive and human rights-based solutions.

Eligibility criteria:


Legally constituted non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and think tanks with expertise in technology and/or ending violence against women and girls.

Countries concerned:


Global.

Project duration:


Up to 12 months.

Grant amount:


Maximum USD 110,000 (USD 55,000 per Focus Area).

Additional information:


Applicants may apply for one or both Focus Areas. A separate budget and technical proposal must be provided for each.

  • Focus Area 1: Enhancing capacities and cross-sectoral collaboration to prevent and respond to technology facilitated violence against women and girls (TFVAWG)
    • Strengthening online safety and resilience of women’s rights organizations and activists.
    • Using data and research on TFVAWG and gendered disinformation for evidence-based advocacy, including addressing policy and regulatory gaps.
    • Facilitating cross-sectoral collaboration between women’s rights organizations, activists, and digital rights experts.
  • Focus Area 2: Leveraging advancements in technology and innovation to advance advocacy on EVAWG
    • Equipping women’s rights organizations and activists with new skills and tools such as big data, AI, behavioral sciences, and digital storytelling.
    • Providing toolkits or trainings to strengthen advocacy, communication, and movement building.
    • All initiatives must include interpretation (English/Spanish/French), translation of materials, and recordings made available on the SHINE platform.
